I DO sometimes run into some weird stuff when the cpu's are all maxed out doing things like unrar a movie that just got downloaded, lets be honest, unraid on the i5 with gaming vm is pushing the limits of the cpu. It direct streams pretty much everything (including 4K HEVC) without it transcoding ! so no issues) So no transcoding while i'm gaming (not really an issue, my gf sometimes uses plex while i'm gaming but I solved this by getting an Odroid c2 as a plex client. That core also does EVERYTHING ELSE on unraid and I just don't think it's a good idea to have that core stressed out for a long time.Don't want anything to go wrong in unraid. I could technically limit the docker to just run on the 1 core i'm not using in the VM but. This is due to plex running on all 4 cpu cores. There is just 1 thing it can't do (right now) and that's game + transcode at the same time, even 1 stream. I have assigned 3 cores to windows and 8Gb of ram (16 in system). It can do everything ! I have a ton of dockers, 1 - 2 vm's (1 windows 10 gaming, 1 linux testing vm (minimal server)) I actually run an I5 4690k unraid system (with windows 10 gaming VM).
